Management
and staff
Our School is created, funded and managed by the community,
with the strong support and voices of parents and children. Together we can do
more and more.
"A nation lives as long as its language lives; without
a national language there is no nation. Speech is an image of a person's
thoughts and feelings; language is an image of a nation's thoughts and
feelings. It is the voice of the homeland extracted from its heart and
spirit." (Karol Libelt)
This sentence fully reflects the meaning of our School's
existence. It is my motivation to work for it every day. I am honoured to be
able to continue the efforts of previous generations of our compatriots from
the local community, who for over 70 years have been ensuring the continuity of
the Polish language and the history and traditions of our homeland amongst our
children.
In my free time, I love travelling and watching good TV series. I am interested in current world politics, new technologies, and the natural and physical phenomena of our world.
I am a biologist by passion and a fan of ecological
education, but an important part in my life is to pass on knowledge about the
Polish language and Polish culture. I love teaching children how to take care
of the environment and live in harmony with nature, but I also enjoy teaching
Polish and introducing young people to the richness of our literature, history
and tradition. I get particular satisfaction from working with Polish children
- I support them in learning their native language and help build a bond with
their Polish roots, combining Polish education with elements of culture.
Board
I work in children's hospital wards and am a mother of an 8-year-old son. I believe that learning Polish is of great importance for shaping a sense of belonging to Polish culture and our traditions. I am proud of the achievements of our students and the fact that our children are gaining linguistic and historical knowledge of our homeland, and that I have the opportunity to support them in this.
I am a creative person and open to new challenges. I like
working in a team and getting involved in projects that have a real impact on
the environment. Working for the Polish School is the epitome of this. In my
free time, I develop my passions, such as cooking and travelling. In everyday
life, I am a happy mother of two children.
I have been a member of the Board/Volunteer for 4 years. I focus on supporting and caring for our children. I care about the well-being and development of the school. I am an active person and involved in community life. I really like working with people and activities that have a positive impact on others. I decided to help at the school because I want to support the formation of a place where, for decades, children from the Polish community have developed in a friendly environment, cultivated the Polish language, learnt and continued the traditions and history of Poland. This gives me great joy and satisfaction.
Supervisory Board
I have lived in the UK for 17 years and work in higher education, currently as a manager and lecturer at The Open University. In my spare time I love reading and travelling. I am a mother of two boys and preserving their Polish identity and language is extremely important to me. The Polish School is a great place where together we can help our children develop and learn about their native traditions and language.
I got involved in working for our School because I like helping, and as a volunteer I have the opportunity to support the School and its students. Helping others allows me to make new friends and build stronger bonds in our local community. In my free time, I love travelling. It allows me to discover new places, learn about different traditions and meet interesting people.
Teaching Staff
I am a qualified geographer, and my greatest passion is travelling. As a teacher in a Polish school in the UK, my priority is not only to expand our students' knowledge of Polish geography, but also to promote Polish culture and tradition. I like to spend my free time surrounded by nature, photographing the places I visit.
I am passionate about working with preschool children. My motto for work is always the idea of the famous Polish children’s educator Janusz Korczak "A child wants to be good. If they can't do it - teach, if they don't know it - explain, if they are not able to - help".
Passionate about education, I am a Teaching Assistant who
supports bilingual children and students with special educational needs. On
Saturdays I teach Polish children, helping them cultivate our beautiful
language and culture.
After hours I immerse myself in the world of books and plan new journeys,
thanks to which I can experience the diversity of cultures. In my free time I
indulge in my fascination with crime podcasts, exploring the intricacies of
human nature and the mysteries of unsolved cases. In my home, a special family
member is Dave the turtle, whose peaceful presence reminds me of the value of
moments of respite.
I am a qualified teacher. My passion is working with young
people. I have been associated with the Polish School in Slough for many years,
initially as a volunteer, assistant and now a teacher. Working with our
wonderful children gives me great satisfaction. Encouraging them to invest in
their development and education is the best advice we can offer our children.
I have lived in the UK for 23 years and have three children.
I have an active lifestyle, I practise boxing, I like long walks and I always
choose the stairs instead of the elevator! In my free time I read books.
Education for me is not just a job, but above all a mission.
I am committed to teaching students about the Polish language and culture,
helping them build a bond with their ancestral homeland. Outside the classroom,
I love discovering the world – travelling is my way of broadening my horizons
and gathering inspiration. I am fascinated by the variety of flavours, which is
why I like to experiment in the kitchen, combining traditional recipes with
modern twists. In my free time, I immerse myself in romantic literature,
appreciating stories full of emotions and unexpected plot twists.
I am a teacher with many years of experience in working with young children, which is my true passion. I have a master's degree in general pedagogy and preschool education, as well as two postgraduate courses: Polish philology and Polish as a foreign language. I create a warm, friendly atmosphere, supporting the youngest in developing language skills, creativity and self-confidence. Learning through play, adapting methods to the needs of the youngest and building relationships with students are key aspects of teaching for me. I am proud to be able to support Polish children in cultivating their language and culture, helping them discover the beauty of the Polish language and build a strong national identity
I am a happy mother of 3 children and I have been working
with children for many years. I love teaching. I have had this passion and
interest in education since my early childhood. Bilingual children give me even
more inspiration. Watching how much they want to write and read in Polish, how
hard they try, gives me so much strength and joy that I have no words to
describe it. My hobbies are reading books, riding a bike and dancing.
I am a qualified educator and a teacher by passion. I began my adventure with the Polish School in 2021. From the very beginning, I have been able to effectively "infect" children with a love of the Polish language and culture. I believe that multilingualism is a treasure, and I treat my role in cultivating the multilingualism of our students as my most important mission. I am constantly trying to expand my knowledge and skills through postgraduate studies and courses.
I am a teacher of early years and preschool education with
10 years of professional experience. I like working with children and I practise
an individual approach to each student. I try to make my lessons interesting
and engaging. I am patient, empathetic, communicative and with a sense of
humour. I like nature and animals. My passion is cooking and baking cakes.
In my work as a teacher, I try to effectively motivate
students to learn. I aim to discover, awaken and shape the individual
capabilities of my students. In my professional life, I am guided by the
message of Janusz Korczak "Children are born with wings and teachers help
them spread them."
My second passion is family travel. I love to explore and learn about the
culture and customs of other corners of the world.
I have a Master's degree in Biology and Earth Sciences. That's why I like to weave information about the geography of Poland, our fauna and flora into my lessons - we follow the arrival and farewells of storks.
Recently, I have become passionate about my native Polish language, which is why I completed a Postgraduate degree in Polish Studies. I spend my free time actively - cycling, running along the Thames, and walking in the forest. I am quite often in Thorpe Park and Legoland. There I like to spread my wings, feel the thrill of excitement and find my inner child :)
Ogladam dokumenty i słucham podkastów o tematyce historycznej i kryminalnej. W wolnym czasie lubie pograć w szachy, brydża, 3-5-8.
I am a curious multipotentialist. I am interested in
medicine and the secrets of the human body. I love reading books – I literally
“devour” them – and experimenting in the kitchen, creating sweet wonders. I
particularly enjoy working with children, with whom I can share my knowledge and
cultivate their bond with Polish culture and tradition. I like to spend my free
time surrounded by nature, walking or cultivating an allotment, the products of
which I use to prepare homemade preserves.
I am a passionate teacher. I have 15 years of professional
experience, including 10 years in Polish schools. I can effectively motivate
students to learn and arouse their curiosity. I am interested in history and I
try to engage students in my passion. Outside of work, I love nature and
animals. I like spending time in the garden, planting and caring for plants. My
second profession and passion is gardening.
I am a qualified and passionate Polish language teacher and
a therapist supporting children and young people with special educational
needs. I have always been interested in psychology and people in a holistic
approach. My passion is to instill in students a love for Poland, Polish
culture and history, as well as everything "Polish" and to shape
pro-ecological attitudes. I love reading books - especially psychological ones,
cycling and walking barefoot on the beach listening to the sound of waves and
the rustle of the wind.
I am a pre-school teaching assistant and a happy mother of
8-year-old Victor. I like to travel and spend time with my family.
I have been involved with the school for 4 years, encouraged
by my mother, who always made sure that I and my siblings spoke Polish and
cared about the traditions of our country. She infected me with this passion
and I hope that I will pass on this love to the children at the Polish School
and to my son.
Secretariat
I work in school administration because I want our school to
run smoothly and be a friendly place for everyone – students, teachers and
parents. I like the fact that I can support the school community and have a
real impact on its operations.
This job gives me a lot of satisfaction – I meet fantastic
people, learn new things and develop my organisational skills. Above all, I
value the fact that I can work in an environment that shapes the young
generation.
My passions are basketball and figure skating. When I have a moment to myself, I like to bake cakes or do crochet.
In addition to the Teaching Staff and School Management, the Supporting Teachers and Volunteers, who are the parents of our children, provide great support. Without their effort and commitment, the operations of our School would be much more difficult, and teaching itself would be much less effective.
Together we are building a community that strengthens our
institution and prepares us for future challenges. We invite more parents to
join this incredible "generational relay" that has been creating a
stronghold of Polish culture for our children for over seven decades.
We are looking for teachers and volunteers. Maybe the Polish
School is the place for you.
